Australian Drug Foundation

The Australian Drug Foundation has been making a difference in Australian society for 45 years, providing services and programs designed to prevent drug problems and to reduce drug-related harms. An integral component of the ADF's outreach is the well-known DrugInfo Clearinghouse. DrugInfo functions as a drug prevention network, providing easy access to information about drug prevention and about alcohol and other drugs. Professionals and members of the general community use DrugInfo as their first port of call for information from local, national and international sources. The ADF's usage of Inmagic DB/Text Works and Web Publisher Pro is sophisticated and wide-ranging. Resource Centre staff enjoy a user friendly, accurate interface and end-users are provided with the kinds of functionality that they expect of a major web-based information resource. With a little help from Maxus, the ADF team have created a seamless service that is widely used and provides the right content to the right people at the right time.

Women's Health Victoria

Women’s Health Victoria (WHV) is an independent women’s health promotion organisation run by women for women across the state of Victoria. Using Inmagic Genie WHV is now able to extend its information provision capability to a wider audience. Women’s Health Victoria’s “community of interest” includes individuals and organisations who work in areas that influence health outcomes, such as health service and health information providers, policy and opinion leaders, researchers and educators. As well as the WHV Clearinghouse, Genie is being used to provide information to users of the BreaCan Resource Centre and to manage the Advocacy Information Service (AIS) of the Victorian Women with Disabilities Network.

California Child Welfare Resource Library

The California Child Welfare Resource Library was founded in 1995 by the California Social Work Education Center. The Library’s mission is to provide up-to-date educational materials to the state’s schools of social work, the county public child welfare agencies and the regional training academies and centres, in order to promote best practices and advocate for families and children. The Library delivers on this mission by operating as a “long-distance lending facility.” From its location at Long Beach, it catalogues and lends out more than 3,600 items in diverse formats – books, videotapes, print articles, audiotapes, CD-ROMs, journals and multimedia kits. Its end users, whose budgets typically are constrained, highly value the ability to borrow instead of buy, or to try before they do buy. To make its holdings easily accessible throughout the state, the Library’s staff relies on Inmagic® Genie. With Genie the Library’s OPAC is available at all hours via the web, and end users can easily request materials via Genie’s InfoCart capability.
