DB/Text version 11  [April 2008]

March 2008 also saw the release of DB/TextWorks Version 11. As with all new version releases, DB/TextWorks customers on maintenance automatically receive Version 11 as part of their annual maintenance contract, and thus can take advantage of these enhanced features and functionality at no additional cost.

New features include:

  • DB/TextWorks:
    • Vista compatibility
    • File checker (similar to the existing link checker, but it will verify UNC referenced network files as well as URLs)
    • An undo action command for specific action types in the form designer
    • HTML report preview: from within the form designer, this feature shows what a report will look like when displayed in the web environment using WebPublisher PRO
    • Ability to select the form used in the Edit Secondary Record window

  • DB/Text WebPublisher PRO Version 11 will offer:
    • Windows Server 2008 compatibility
    • XHTML compliance
    • Query logging to provide the administrator with a log of WebPublisher PRO queries
    • Next/Previous Highlight navigation

If you are planning to use Vista on your desktop or your IT department is planning to move to Windows Server 2008 (Microsoft has scheduled the release of Windows Server 2008 for February), Version 11 is a must, as prior versions of DB/Text WebPublisher PRO are not compatible with Windows Server 2008.

Don't forget to renew your Maintenance agreement in 2008 to receive any available product upgrades. To renew, please contact Maxus or your local representative.
