The winner of the draw in the last issue of MiniMaxus News is Anna Gifford, Resource Centre Manager at the Australia Drug Foundation, who will shortly receive the prize (an iPod shuffle.) by mail. Most popular choice was RSS Feeds, followed by Blogs, Tagging and Wikis. In fact since version 10 of WebPublisher PRO Version you have been able to easily create RSS feeds for textbases that are available through the web. See the Maxus RSS tip for “how to” instructions. TextWorks and Full Text Documents Stephen Cayless, Infordata, Perth, WA A number of clients have recently asked about archiving and indexing electronic documents. You may like to know that the Inmagic suite of products including DB/TextWorks and CS/TextWorks (TextWorks), Genie and Presto can full text index a wide range of electronic documents. Furthermore, in TextWorks a large group of documents can be imported as full text as a batch, i.e., you can import multiple documents at once. For example, a group of PDF documents can be imported at the same time and a record is created for each one. Each record will include the full text (fully indexed) and a hypertext link to each document. A 3MB PDF normally takes about 5 seconds to import and index. TextWorks will then provide a very fast search facility to thousands of full text indexed documents. Please contact Stephen (or your local Maxus rep) for any further information and how to configure and use Import Documents.
