DB/Text ® Web Publisher PRO

Version 12

  • Synonym searching. For fields having an associated thesaurus, related or preferred terms can be added to to the query.
  • Stop words ignored in Alternate Search Syntax. Web Publisher PRO now ignores stop words when processing a query that uses Alternate Search Syntax ("Google-like" searching).
  • Improved Support for Internet Explorer 7.0. Internal changes have been made to better support IE 7 and Cascading Style Sheets.
  • Compatibility with additional Microsoft operating systems. The following operating systems are supported:
    • Windows Server 2008 SP1 (32-bit or 64-bit)
    • Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit)
    • Windows Server 2003 SP1 (32-bit)
    • Windows Server 2003 R2 (64-bit)
    • Windows XP Professional SP2

Version 11

  • Windows Server 2008 compatibility.
  • XHTML compliance: provides improved standards compliance for web publishing.
  • Next/Previous Highlight navigation: hightlights the query hits within the record in a search result.
  • Query logging: provides the administrator with a log of Web Publisher PRO queries, including the query, number of records returned, time & date, and IP address from which the query originated.

Version 10

  • Alternative search syntax – this feature provides the option of a "Google™-style" syntax for searching.
  • Ability to provide RSS publishing.
  • InmagicBrowse enhancements.
  • Support for multiple folders for images on the web.
  • An Inmagic digital signature for increased security.
  • Valid digital signatures.

Version 9

  • Browsing long validation lists is now much faster: version 9 incorporates support for paging the validation list.
  • Web-based data entry is enhanced with the ability to browse the link field (in a secondary textbase) while editing.
  • Exploded sorts are now supported by Web Publisher PRO.
  • You now have the ability to change the text caption on the Browse Choices button.
  • The XML interface can handle certain characters that are normally unacceptable to XML.
  • The Inmagic XML tutorial has been updated, providing improved documentation for using this standards-based interface.
  • XML capability has been enhanced in several ways to make it easier for XML-based web developers.

Version 8

  • Compatible with Windows Server 2003
  • Additional Browse Index method which does not require Java (an alternative to Word Wheels)
  • Support for the SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) interface
  • XML returns the hit count, notifying users if a results set is empty or too large
  • Ability to specify the number of records to appear in the results set
  • Ability to import XML automatically
  • When using the web editing screen, information is retained even if any field has a data entry error; after attempting to save, you only need to correct the field in error and re-submit the record
  • With the release of TextWorks and WebPublisher PRO version 8, the features and functionality will be synchronised and independent of the backend used - DB/Text or Content Server

Version 6.1

  • Significant performance improvement in displaying record information
