DB/TextWorks ®

Version 11

• Vista compatibility.

• File checker: similar to the existing link checker, but it will verify UNC referenced network files as well as URLs.

• Undo command in form designer: an undo action command for specific action types.
• HTML report preview: from within the form designer, this feature shows what a report will look like when displayed in the web environment using WebPublisher PRO.

• Ability to select the form used in the Edit Secondary Record window.

Version 10

• Ability to see paths of the EXE and INI files without opening a textbase.

• Toolbar button for the Browse Files command.

• Support for putting a PDF file name into an image field when extracting text on import.
• List of public elements included in the Textbase Information listing.

• An Inmagic digital signature for increased security.

Version 9

• Support for PDF files as a standard image type has been added.

• GIF images can now be viewed and manipulated just like any other image format supported by DB/TextWorks.

• Data entry for documents and images has been simplified: use Shift+F3 to browse and select a file name (similar to Windows Explorer).

• You now have an option to save forms, query screens, etc., as Public by default.
• Installation has been simplified by providing the ability to run Setup Workstation using SMS (Systems Management Server).

• Batch Modify is made more powerful via the addition of the following:

   • Support for special characters such as line breaks and the entry delimiter;
  • The ability to add text to the beginning or end of an entry.

Content Server

Version 10

CS/TextWorks 10 features are identical to DB/TextWorks 10 features.

CS/WebPublisher PRO 10 features are identical to DB/Text WebPublisher PRO 10 features.

Version 9(moved from v.1.3 to v.9.0 for continuity with DB/Text platform)

CS/TextWorks 9 features are identical to DB/TextWorks 9 features.

CS/WebPublisher PRO 9 features are identical to DB/Text WebPublisher PRO 9 features.
Additionally, the following new features are specific to Content Server v9:

• Content Server v9 Workgroup now comes bundled with SQL Server Express, which supports up to 4GB databases

• Content Server v9 Workgroup can run with either the MSDE or SQL Server Express as its underlying datastore

• Enhanced functionality in the Content Server Administration program, including the capacity to restore multiple textbases at once

Version 1.3

• Seamless migration for customers moving from DB/Text to Content Server – version 1.3 includes an automated migration and utility tool for moving DB/Text databases to the Content Server backend

• Product re-naming and packaging: Content Server for Windows and Content Server for Web have been changed to CS/TextWorks and CS/WebPublisher PRO respectively

• Support for Windows 2003 and MS SQL Server replication as well as intranet, extranet and firewall configurations

• Enhanced performance: significantly faster processing when dealing with large sets of records: • Sorting: faster sorting speeds for primary textbases, especially for multiple entry fields.

• Batch operations: faster Batch Modify and/or Batch Delete speeds over large sets of records.

• Report formatting: faster formatting of searches that result in large sets of records.

• Searching: complex searches that retrieve large numbers of records now process faster.

• Importing records: faster importing of records into a textbase.
• Multiple-users access improvements: operations that multiple users may access at the same time now have improved performance (e.g. Batch Modify).

• Ability to create SOAP interfaces for Web services interaction: the Inmagic.net menu can now be used to create SOAP interfaces. This enables developers to use Content Server for Web as a Web service in conjunction with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003. This SOAP interface supports the standard database functions of query, update, insert, and delete, as well as additional functions.

• New toolbar button appearance: toolbar buttons in Content Server for Windows have a flat appearance. When a user moves the mouse pointer over a button, its appearance becomes three-dimensional. /TD>

• Next/Previous Highlight navigation: hightlights the query hits within the record in a search result.
• Query logging: provides the administrator with a log of WebPublisher PRO queries, including the query, number of records returned, time & date, and IP address from which the query originated.

Version 10

• Alternative search syntax – this feature provides the option of a "Google™-style" syntax for searching.

• Ability to provide RSS publishing.

• InmagicBrowse enhancements.
• Support for multiple folders for images on the web.

Version 9

• Browsing long validation lists is now much faster: version 9 incorporates support for paging the validation list.

• Web-based data entry is enhanced with the ability to browse the link field (in a secondary textbase) while editing.

• Exploded sorts are now supported by WebPublisher PRO.

• You now have the ability to change the text caption on the Browse Choices button.
• The XML interface can handle certain characters that are normally unacceptable to XML.

• The Inmagic XML tutorial has been updated, providing improved documentation for using this standards-based interface.

• XML capability has been enhanced in several ways to make it easier for XML-based web developers.

Version 8

• Compatible with Windows Server 2003

• Additional Browse Index method which does not require Java (an alternative to Word Wheels)

• InfoCart feature allows an individual user to search, review results and select items of interest to be stored in their InfoCart for later retrieval and ordering or requesting. With the InfoCart you (and your end users) can:

• Make a request to the library regarding a particular item without having to cut and paste information into a separate e-mail

• Send information to a colleague in an email as text or with a link to a Genie report page

• Download the information in .CSV (Comma-Separated Values) or .XML (eXtensible markup Language) files

• Print Catalogue records
