The first Inmagic Museum User Group meeting for 2012 was hosted by Puffing Billy Archives. Members were treated to a lunchtime train trip between Belgrave and Emerald Park Lake. It was a sunny Melbourne autumn day with wonderful views from the train windows and lots of DB/Text Works conversations over a light lunch. Volunteers from Puffing Billy Archives provided a commentary on the train’s history and highlights of the countryside.
|At the midway stop discussion focused on the general direction of cataloguing in Victoria and future avenues for communication. MC2 which has provided a discussion forum for many years will close on 30th June and it was decided that a Yahoo Group be created to share ideas and discuss issues relating to cataloguing collections and using computers. This has now been set up and can be found at http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/computercataloguing/
The return trip saw DB/Text Works users tucking into a spread of scones, jam and cream (as well as further discussions of computers, cataloguing and DB/Text Works).
Many thanks to Geoff and members of the Puffing Billy Railway Archive for hosting this meeting and for providing such wonderful hospitality.
