The first Inmagic Museum User Group meeting for 2012 was hosted by Puffing Billy Archives. Members were treated to a lunchtime train trip between Belgrave and Emerald Park Lake. It was a sunny Melbourne autumn day with wonderful views from the train windows and lots of DB/Text Works conversations over a light lunch. Volunteers from Puffing Billy Archives provided a commentary on the train’s history and highlights of the countryside.

At the midway stop discussion focused on the general direction of cataloguing in Victoria and future avenues for communication. MC2 which has provided a discussion forum for many years will close on 30th June and it was decided that a Yahoo Group be created to share ideas and discuss issues relating to cataloguing collections and using computers. This has now been set up and can be found at http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/computercataloguing/
The return trip saw DB/Text Works users tucking into a spread of scones, jam and cream (as well as further discussions of computers, cataloguing and DB/Text Works). |
Many thanks to Geoff and members of the Puffing Billy Railway Archive for hosting this meeting and for providing such wonderful hospitality.
